Hi Tony,

Definition is "reckless behaviour" and is a 4 letter word for "wrong" inside a 3 letter word for "prohibitionist" (loose definition!)

Thanks! I was thinking SIN and prohibitionist is a bit of a stretch! Worth it when you get there, though.

Hi Tanglewood,

15a definition is "country" and the answer is in the clue.

24,12 definition is a rather cryptic "one on the board" and is a 4 letter word for "snake" (as a verb) + a 5 letter word for "more certain" around/bites the head of F(irm)

Hi everyone

Once again I started late after a cold afternoon in the garden. But I soon got stuck, so many thanks for the hints which gave me a number of answers. I have one left 17ac Tramp banking on sovereign (7) I have ?A?A?C? but I'm not sure about the second A from 6d. Any hints gratefully received.

I've just checked the spelling of 5d and realise my first A is in fact an O, so I have an answer for 17ac, but cannot fully parse it. Oh yes I can!

There are a number of others I cannot parse including 8ac, 3d, 6d and 22d

More gardening in store tomorrow.
