Like most other people I can't make head-nor-tail of the supposedly
"TINY" solution. Also, I'm trying to justify RASCALS as the answer for
26 Across, the clue for which is:-"Tinkers reduced thoughtless cries, making no repetition". This would appear to emanate from "RASH CALLS", but how are the "H" and "L" lost?

26 Reduced thoughtless cries = cut both Ras(h) and Cal(l)s (the L is to go, so that there's no repetition of letters/Ls.)

Many thanks, Malone. I didn't think much of that clue, to be honest, but it pales into insignificance when compared with the initial query regarding the "rebellion" clue, which is an apparent mystery to all solvers!

Rocketman, it could have been better, that clue! And as for the tiny rebellion... that's still a mystery.

We struggled trying to understand why “tiny” but are relieved to see correspondence. If Malone and Rocketman can’t provide an answer then, definitively, there is no answer to provide! Perhaps it could have read “Insignificant rebellion.......”?
