Am stuck with this:

17a Rebellion? Show hesitation , deposing leading pair (4)

I have T_N_. At first I thought it might be tang, but then I saw if could be tiny - mutiny (rebellion) without the mu (or um deposed). But all that leaves me without a definition!

Any help gratefully received.

Only thing I can think of is that MUTINY = rebellion and if you depose the leading pair you're left with TINY.

Coincidentally (or perhaps intentionally) MU is "um" backwards which could link to the "hestitation" but as I whole I can't see a definition that makes sense.

This one’s got me baffled too. I agree with the reasoning behind MUTINY, but what in the clue means TINY?
