I'm struggling with the last pair, 9a and 25a. Any hints?
I may not have 7d right. I have a genus of "flags", but no idea how it parses.

9 Warning over university restricting theological study (2,4)
O?,E?C?
25 Respecting exclusive wotk at last (6)
?E?O?E

7d Underworld figure thus raised flag (6)

The "flag" must be wrong - I've got 25 now, and it doesn't include a C!

OK, done now. Unlucky that I knew ACORUS as "sweet flag"!

Hi, 7D not right I fear. Think the start of the clue for the definition.

For 9A ‘over’ refers to the letter o (cricketing terminology) rather than anything written backwards. That threw me for a while.

It's a word that I always forget means what it means!

You need a common crossword word for 'wine' inside a common crossword word for loaf (not bread).

I have to admit, I had no idea this word meant "seize and devour".

Brendan, I'm glad I wasn't the only one! I think we all know, would get the 'agent noun' word, but this one/answer isn't used very much.

Hi Malone, the meaning meant for this clue isn't given in The Free Online Dictionary but it is in Chambers - however, 17a isn't in Chambers but is in the Free Online Dictionary.
