4d is a chain of 4 letters following G (leader of Government) around 'A C(entury)'

10a is 'For' = PRO + M(edial) O(fficer)

9a Is 'Arm' in Celite - I think! I wasn't 100% sure of this myself.

Is it now OK to give answers on the Guardian prize puzzle? I thought it was clues, hints only. (I got my knuckles rapped once for daring to give an answer, having forgotten the convention!)

I think all these people got the answers right. The difficulty is in parsing correctly. No direct answers here, I hope.

There are several explicit answers, or partial answers, in the thread. My preference would be for hints and nudges only, as one sometimes inadvertently sees other solutions when coming here for a hint. But I know other people have different views and it can't be policed so.....
