18 - definition "and not"
28 - usual letters for KE + anag of last
27 - if you have the first letter, it's a word for clot with start of triathlon, take away 2 letters

Prospero, that is what I had penciled in for 27...
Don't be too prejudiced about 2d.
Still working on 11a because my guardian should be at the beginning. May have to re-think 4d in case I have a letter wrong...

well, there is clearly an inclination ... towards the b word - but I can't see what the question mark is doing. It seems too simple a solution to me.

For 2/10, I'm still in the e ending camp. Google suggests hitting the mark relates to bowling not cricket (although the answer I have is used in both sports) - and Chambers confirms e as an abbreviation of earl. But I fear the debate will rage on...
