Resolving the 10 clashes ......do i select the "males" ..or am I on the wrong track??

Thanks ...hadn't twigged that the other clashes letters gave the horses!!!! Doh!

All done ... except for the parsing of 13A. The pattern of the clashes would suggest that there is not a 13A/9D clash, but I can't get away from my initial answers ... which clash. So I must be making a mess of 13A.

snod is scottish word for neat ..add the a(alcohol) N is extra....

It's always good to give the clue...

I mentioned giving the clue as there are some good solvers on here, but they don't get all the papers, crosswords. Sometimes, of course, the thematic stuff gets in the way!
