I've been looking at this between jobs during the day but progress is very slow. Is one of the definitions in 3ac a plant with a z in it?

I have two of the extra words but don't have a scooby as to the carol, is it a very well-known one?

Perhaps a glass of chardonnay will help

Thanks for that hint Tony - I've finally seen the connection. Needless to say I'd never thought of the dictionary definition belonging to that word, but there it is in the BRB. What a slog.

Not a"z", Planks. The plant is a herb. Cloth is the other definition.
The carol is very well known. I don't know how old you are, but you probably sang it at school. It has 2 girls' names in the title.

If it's any consolation s_pugh, I'd never come across it and missed it the first time that I looked it up.

Not to worry, Planks. Over the years I've collected over 20 different misspellings of my name. Pleased to have been of assistance.
