I think it's (S)Iberian, like the Don, Russian river, extremely cold. I think you take off, having spent, the Hiver, winter in France. This could be tosh!

I wonder whether Don means a Spaniard, an Iberian.

Dom, perhaps is the definition. Iberian is the answer.

Extremely cold, Siberian, without the S(hiver)

I'm feeling a bit thick.
I've completed the grid and highlighted 2 clue answers for a total of 11 cells but can't, for the life of me, find the 3rd relative.
I have perused every list and website on the subject, scanned the grid 10 times. The penny has yet to drop. Something's wrong with me.
I'm starting to suspect that some of my clued entries are wrong, and that some of the letters that would help me are misplaced.

Took me a couple of hours to fill the grid on Sunday morning, yet here I am still puzzled by the endgame on Thursday...

manu, there's a horizontal one beginning with H and two vertical ones beginning with M and G. They're answers to clues.

Manu, I just looked at all the 6-letter answers and wondered if they could be a relative. I already had one, in the Downs, then I spotted another one, kind...

PS The clue above only works if you've got the same two that I had originally.

Thank you both.

I didn't have the G one. I remember checking it though. But I've just found the correct meaning in one dictionary. It must be a little obscure, because I didn't find this particular meaning in my usual online dictionaries.

Sorted. I won't submit my answer but finding the 3rd relative is a relief.
