Brain not working!

7 down defeats me. I have c?m?r but this doesn't seem to make sense - I can't parse the clue.

Help much appreciated. (7a may be wrong!)

You haven't given the clue! That's always a help, especially to those without a copy. I did the puzzle and there was Gamer, which came from letters hidden in the clue - I think that's probably it.

comer fits but not knowing what the clue is that may be wrong.

Hi davipde - yes, your 7a is incorrect. The definition for 7d is 'player' and the answer is, I believe, a modern term... given to those who enjoy playing on a computer or mobile device?
