All complete, got the quotation, but can't find the 5 letter speaker. I'm looking for colours, but nothing comes up. Where does it start please?

I've no longer got my grid, Bigf - but it's horizontal, near the top. It's not a colour, just a word that a colour could easily precede. As you've got the quotation, think of fairly famous characters in the work.

Thank you for your prompt reply Malone. I had seen this particular character in the grid, but was misled by an earlier post which suggested I should be looking around the 34ac area.
All done now.

I have a full grid and have identified all of the spare words, but I do not understand what is meant by "logical interpretation of their first and last letters". A hint would be gratefully received.

Hi 0pt0, I'd recommend listing the first and last letters vertically but rather than reading them in conventional order there's a twist !

It's logical in a thematic way - the book title suggests a certain orientation.

Many thanks Ginge and drxx. I have got the quotation now: just trying to work out how to highlight the speaker.

I wouldn't have been able to complete without this hint - this forum is so useful
