I "think" the answer is ULLAGE but I can't see how the clue works and which word is extra?
16a EGON ... is that a rare scottish word for a sore head or am i on the wrong track??

16 I have Enow - En, nut =Ow, that's sore.

34 Is thematic (I think!)

2 Ulling, Fulling, filling to the brim, without the F (not following). It means 'making good losses'. I think Tavern was the extra word.

I have a full grid but am struggling with the final 'word search'. A pointer as to where to look would be much appreciated.

The speaker is horizontal, formed from adjoining letters in several answers. (PS I looked for a word that could have a colour attached to it, that helped me.)
