I was a bit surprised - Didn't you do Latin, Elle?

Yes, Brendan, Latin was my best and favourite subject!
But, you see, I was fixated on its being Italian that was required for the answer....
and "e" is the Italian for "and".

Ah! I see what you mean Elle. In my ignorance I had assumed (wrongly) that the Italian and Latin for "and" was the same! - Well, I did say I gave up Latin in the 3rd year and never studied Italian at all. I know, I know, excuses, excuses:-)

Well done anyone who got anywhere near finishing, I thought this was a stinker and gave up with only about a third solved.
