I did this with one eye on the start of the Grand Prix qualifying from Japan so, it didn't have my full attention.

That said, I quite enjoyed it but, although the answer is clear, I have no idea how 8d is parsed - ideas welcome.

As always, please feel free to leave your thoughts and comments and, like me, ask if you need any hints.

I've just noticed there's a nice little rhyme in 1a and 29a - just thought it was worth a mention.

Morning, Brendan. First letter abbreviation deserted + soul singer without the first letter.

I’m stuck on the top left corner, 9d 3d, 10a and 12 a!
Any chance of a hint for 12a? I have **/a**/*s am I right so far? Feeling a bit dense this morning!

First letter of 2 clue words

Kas -- You might need to watch them in polite society. Some lovely clues this week, I thought, and the usual linked pair along the top and bottom raised a giggle. However, I needed all of the crossing letters before I got 2D, which is a sad reflection of how mundane my life has become, I guess. One quibble -- didn't we have 5D a few weeks ago?

12a manners you watch yours

Phil if memory serves, a few weeks ago I think we had the name of the resort itself, without the switch of first letters.

Decent set of clues this week, some great word play.

You're right -- it was the other way round, wasn't it? That said, the fact that I immediately thought of WWII conferences when I saw the word 'resort' suggests that the two clues are too similar to be used in rapid succession. Agree with your overall assessment, though -- lots of fun this week. 15D is a cracker!
