My apologies for not saying 6 letters. I assumed those who are doing this quiz would know, a mistake, sorry.

Reward was in my list of considered answers, but I felt it needed too much interpretation of the clue to be right.

Thanks to all who have tried so far.

I'm a sucker for punishment, so I offer:

Points (as in points on loyalty card, points on licence). It may not be right, but at least it has six letters.

I thought a bit more about reward. Maybe I misinterpreted the type of clue it was.

I can see the logic.

A reward can be an incentive for shopping at tescos

Unless someone comes up with another brilliant answer I think it would be best to put this to rest.

Two excellent solvers on another site came up with 'reward' earlier - and it does seem to work. If you're still not 100% sure, why not forget about the whole thing for a week or so and then look at the clue afresh?
