I have the prison and the refuge and the 15 letters ....but can't see how to progress?
"the bottom row and left hand column ......" how ?

Start in the square in the middle of the prison. Whatever the letter is in this square , draw a path along the row until you see this same letter in the bottom row.Then whatever letter you landed on , draw a line down the column until you see this letter in the left-hand column. Continue for 20 letters and you end up in the square in the middle of the refuge. The 20 letters are anagrams of the escapees.

This is so frustrating. Everything seems to work, but I have ended up with the letters nucyctir for the refuge. Could someone please put me out of my misery ?
