Doesn't it run around the top of your K and drop down at the end?

...and we only use 10 of the 11 letters from the (2x) 6 letter words in the sketched diagram, plus 12 others = 32 in all.

I have the s in cell 22
The next 2 letters in the column to the right and above
The next two in 3rd and 2 letters of 8d

The E is then the 2nd letter of 13d

Is that correct?

Only 1 from 8dn novice - use the 2nd letter in 9dn instead.

Please ignore my typo at 23:50 - I meant 22 cells, not 32.

I was trying not to be too explicit about the highlighting, but as nobody has responded to my queries regarding cell connectivity, can anyone confirm that the letters of LIGHTNING should be highlighted as follows?

Row 1 columns 4,5,6
Row 2 columns 5,6
Row 3 columns 6, 7
Row 4 column 7
Row 5 column 8

I have no idea what the related 6 letter word which can be traced twice might be.

I thought 9d was spirts which with clash is Sparts?

Is it skirts and skarts then?

That's what I have, Turast. The 6 letter word starts at row 6 column 9 and goes in 2 different directions. It is obviously related to the 9 letter word.

Turast, re #6, I’m not sure why you felt that sides must be horizontal and not vertical. I see no reason for that, and agree with tonynannini about the cells

Turast, I should have added that the "Southwest" bound 6 letter word helps to provide 2 further words necessary for the construction, one of 3 , the other of 6 letters.
