Even I found it fairly easy today - lots of anagrams - it was an Everyman like this which caught my attention several months ago and convinced me I am actually capable of doing cryptics - so no complaints from me neither! : )

Many here felt that 22a were responsible for pushing President Bush (W) into Iraq war.

Since some of them are still influential and are (allegedly) encouraging the current President to go to war with Iran, the newspapers continue to remind us that 22a may succeed.
