Hi everyone

I did manage to finish this crossword yesterday, but like many of you I had trouble parsing some of the answers, so I thought I'd check in today to see if I could get any explanations. So thanks to many of you for your explanations.

I googled message in a bottle for 1, 6 across. I'd never heard of the gender two letters either for 15ac. The crossword was relatively easy once I got into it and I was able to watch Montalbano in comfort. 11ac was a new word for me and I had to look up 24ac to understand the answer. 26 ac was also a new word. I knew it was a font, but couldn't see the key initially.

Roof, do you not have a type of top for 26a?

Thanks. I have found a 3 letter computer keyboard word which, when inserted into 'her' makes a word, though I am still at a loss to see what it has to do with top types. My word is something horses wear instead of a bridle.
Done now - off to tackle the killer sudoku.
