2d and 41a not in much use here.
I only had last letter in 41a and two As in15a.

Glad we could help, sunray. I've never used - nor seen! - 2 D and 41 A!

I thought this a tad easier than those of recent weeks. Quite a clever construction and an unambiguous end game.
It was only at the end I realised the whole grid conformed to the theme. Should have noticed that earlier.
The title should have helped too but only spotted its significance after finishing.

As is often the case I am stuck. I have completed the grid and identified extra letters in the following 15,19,30,40,43,45 across and 2,3,4,8,13,24,34.
I have googled the 13 letters but nothing of any sense emerges. Is there a Brexit connection?
Any nudge would help.

The letters form a two word phrase that isn't in English... Your extra at 3 is wrong and there's one after 34.

It was useful to read up on 25 A.

Hi williamseal, there is no extra letter in 3d (read the clue carefully) and there is one in 37d. The "split" is 2/11.

Just coming on to post my own question. You have a couple wrong there. There isn't an extra letter in 3d (although that's one of my own queries) and you're missing the final extra letter. No connection to Brexit. Have you got 25a? The extra letters only help once you've identified the facts about 25a.
