Found this tougher than usual.
Still looking for answers to two 4 letter clues.

One at 10a and another at 27d.

sunray: For 10a, think of chess. For 27d, think of second as assistant.

I don't fully get the parse for 29a, or 22a. For the latter I see where the four letters come from, but not the significance of Olympics XXX.

I also don't quite get the wordplay in 29A.
Is it supposed be a shortened homophone for white brocolli ?
Or, the answer + "flower" = the vegetable?

You and sunray are surely right about 29a, but it's not quite a homophone, is it? Maybe where Mr. Maltby's from, but not in Boston, where we do speak a form of English. :)
