I'm struggling with 11 d and 27d. Any tips much appreciated

Both have misprints, one of the first word of the clue and one of the last

11d Misprint is in last word. You need an "M". Definition is last two words.
27d Misprint is at end of first word. Definition is first two words. Name of a Scottish town minus 2 letter abbreviation.

I have a full grid and have found the misprints. I am struggling with the eight words. Would anyone be able to confirm if there are two to be found before 26 across? Thanks

I think so, Planks, two before 26a and one in 26a, but I am also struggling with the 8 extra words. The ones in down clues appear to be relevant thematically to the first word spelled by the corrected letters, but I cannot make head or tail of the across extra words and so of the further information that they are supposed to give.

Me too! Filled the grid. Have the misprints and message but cannot find extra words. So far ... 12 a, 26a, 30a, 2d, 9d, 25d. Please correct me if I’m wrong and help me find all eight. Grid staring is also getting tiresome!

There is one in 26a, and I think there is one in 28a (if not then perhaps 33a, but I am really stuck on this bit)
