The six examples around the outside I'd thought I'd got (except for the final one L?G, but on checking the letters to be added to perimeter AS ONE GENTLE THEORY, I find I haven't got a 'Y' in the perimeter. So I need to know where the 'Y' is & the final example for which I have the letters L?G.

Your G is wrong,and the Y goes in that final entry.

Yes it becomes car- to extend is go in wordplay

The other one's misprint is Song rather than long.

That should help you figure them out.

The overlapping was clever, and I don't think I've ever seen a 15-letter entry used in a perimeter word search before. The only clue I can't parse is 14D. How does ARA represent an expanse with no bottom?

It could be Area = expanse, with 'not bottom of it' meaning to drop the 'e' at the end of 'expanse'?
