Rosa was on form this weekend, a good puzzle - I like some of the other setters on the FT too.

Help! I still don't understand this clue?! Really struggled this week almost to the point of giving up.

Yes, I have done all for many years but this is the most difficult yet.

I agree with what you say but I wonder whether anyone from the Observer looks at forum comments and whether a letter to the Observer would help

Since the regular setter for the Everyman "retired" because of ill health, the last few weeks have produced some very poor crosswords; inaccuracies, not hanging together well, and being rather ridiculously easy,
I thought this Sunday's offering was a pleasant change, in that it was once again more of a challenge.
I much prefer a harder setting and the chance to exercise my brain!
I at least was pleased!

I’m with Jertax. I really didn’t like this crossword - AT ALL. I know they were getting pretty easy in recent months. But if I can’t even get it when I have the answer, either I’m way more stupid than I thought I was, or the definitions are too loose. As in 1D - I need an explanation of “Sorry” meaning “down”.
