Totally irrelevant to the puzzle, but this forum seems to be experiencing difficulties counting up to 27 (which it was when I posted this message)

Hello unclued,

20a. is a (ii) type clue. epic + er reversed leads to recipe, and this is anagrammatised.

I am having difficulty with the maxim. I am an n short of what I think the answer must be, and the only possibility I see to secure it is that 28a. is not a (iii) clue but an unaffected clue. Any idea would be very welcome.

Hi casanova, it might be worth looking at the first three posts which are now numbered -2, -1 & 0 !

Hi ginge,

thank you for the direction you provided. I am now happy with my solution to the puzzle, and I finally understand the significance of hungover imposters in the context of the crossword.

Hi all. Enjoyed this one but not quite there. Haven’t got the maxim and can’t understand the entire wordplays to 28 and 41. A little nudge on those would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello Casanova

I have had a full grid since Friday and still have no idea what the hangovers are.

Hello,

18a. is a Scottish word for good + a common abbreviation for ordinary. It is a type (iii) clue. 41a. Is a type (I) clue. The first two words constitute the wordplay and both words are abbreviations.
