Congrats tyke51 nd thanks pedagogue.

It's not often that a cryptic definition wins one of these!

Thanks for the explanation, pedagogue. News to me on both counts.

It does remind me, though - England used to pick Derek Underwood as they would take an umbrella - in case it rained. (On uncovered pitches when it rained, Underwood was just about unplayable.)

Well done Tyke, and thanks, Pedagogue for the mention and a great word to clue.
Fascinating clip - there must be big money in football!

Congrats tyke. Thanks pedagogue. And glad someone parsed as I'm another unfamiliar with that terminology.

A note on the subject of DBEs (definition by example): for anyone wondering, tyke added a question mark as the second half was a DBE.

Thanks for explaining `sticky dog` Pedagogue - sorry if it caused non-cricketers a problem!
It certainly is `Sunny Donny` this fine morn - I`m also a Yorkshire Cricket member - Lord`s and Scarborough being my favourite grounds - have booked for Chelmsford in July (4 day match) ... hoping to receive a friendly welcome from the Essex faithful (or not!)

Chrise - Yes I remember `deadly` Derek ... he was unplayable at times!
