Please explain this clue: The Arles, together?
The answer is ensemble which obviously means together, but what’s with the Arles?

Of course, as soon as I sent the question the answer came to me. There is a musical group, ensemble, called this.

In France, (eg Arles) ensemble is the French for 'together'

I don't know of a musical group The Arles. My interpretation was that it was indicating a French word being used.
My post crossed with yours, but due to having to recognize 5 captchas, bikes, mountains, hydants, cars and illegible shopfronts........ :(

The French word was my take on it too.

I think this is an appalling clue. I guessed the answer but didn't know why and had to resort to googling which is of course most unsatisfying.

I have worked as a music journalist but have never heard of The Arles. The Art Ensemble of Chicago are far better known (even if relatively obscure) and I would never expect a clue about them!

The setter was only indicating a French word (by the use of Arles) nothing to do with any named group.

I found an obscure reference to Lese Arles ensemble, they performed at the London Eye in 2012, I kid you not.
Ridiculous clue.

So it could have equally well referenced any French word then? Sloppy!
