Hi Steve51 - yes I was a Radio Luxembourg listener (who could forget Keynsham, Bristol !) and an AFN fan.
I loved the West Coast `sound` Jefferson Airplane etc...Mama Cass knew everybody...Legends of the Canyon, Joni Mitchell, Buffalo Springfield, Crosby, Stills et al.
Murray Lerner made some of the best film recordings of the period eg Newport Folk Festival 1963-65 and the Isle of Wight 1970 - which you can get on bluray - the sound is very good. Dylan and Joan Baez feature on Newport and many top bands at IOW - highlight for me (apart from The Who) was Leonard Cohen who they woke to go on stage about 3.00am and he was excellent - quitening down the 600,000 crowd - many of whom had gate-crashed the event! Kristofferson had earlier walked off the stage fearing trouble.
I actually emailed Murray Lerner about five years ago and got a nice reply - sadly he passed away recently - pleased to see Grace Slick is still enjoying life - she gave a lot of people much enjoyment!

Just ordered Joni Mitchell: Both Sides Now - Live at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970 (2018)
Didn`t know until I looked just now but this was Murray Lerner`s last film and is the full performance by another of my favourites ...on bluray with interviews etc.

Tyke @12
When I was studying A level chemistry, a spatula was always known as a "horace" - I'll leave you to work out why!

Nice one Chrise - it shows the power of advertising - 50 years later and we still remember Mr Batchelor!
I did A level Chemistry too but it was my weaker subject after Maths & Physics - Inorganic was OK but I never came to terms with organic!

Remember he used to emphatically spell out K-E-Y-N-S-H-A-M?
