I have the grid filled,including unclued and hidden word, apart from 3D and top row. A nudge with the former might help with the latter - and would be very appreciated.

3d usal 4 letter word for register ....put N inside and L is extra.

top line is the same as the bottom line

I think the answer to 2d is an anagram of A son but cannot parse it.

2d yes anagram of a son +i but s is extra ...defn temples

15a anagram of united end ... i is extra

28 defn = radar echoes ....anagram of e signal ...i is extra

But 15a answer has clashes with 2d and 3d.
Is that correct?

I still have to work out 13a, 29d and the unclued in Col. 3.

The other unclued is two words but there is a character named Mr.G.

The extra letters (I have most) do not make much sense.

Do you know the theme and how to treat the relevant clues or do you need help with that?

13a defn is usually a rail rather than a block..can't parse their clue ... but try a 3 letter word for father + O !
29d is a thematic one ...defn is a blower

The down unclued one is entered in thematic fashion ..it's a christian name

The across one is a surname of a lady in a famous film "having a meal in a hotel"
