Thanks again, Ginge, and also chrise I've certainly learnt a few new words and expressions today! I didn't have "niqab" in my dictionary. I'm just left with these:-
18 Across - "Get shot of escort after worry" (3,4) (E-T -E--)
(it probably ends in "D")
39 Across - "Plane, before descent, to remain low" (8)
(can only find "FLATWISE" to fit this one)
