I admire the fact that all the letter exchanges lead to real words. I nearly got caught out in the highlighting, though - I just noticed in time that ten letters were required and swerved away from my original target (which imo could also have been his discovery).

I'm completely stuck on both 27s. A gentle nudge would be appreciated for either. Do I have the correct poet, a person from the 1600's?

Planks, I think there's a misprint (in the definition) in the second word of 27 Across.

In 27ac, doesn’t “hear” become “haar”, not “hoar”?
