backofthegrid

I'm stuck on CAM 84 (MEKEEKROE LEOO), I have answers for all the clues and have encoded the 11 in the theme, but 39 across and 27 down don't agree where they cross. My answers for both are plausible, and the grid is complete apart from this one square.

Has anyone got satisfactory answers for these clues?

The crossing letter should be R.

I'm pretty sure you'll have the archaic down entry right, because of the generous cross-checking but have you got the pig for 39ac? If not, it's to do with what a pig does.
Hope this helps - good puzzle I thought.

...but just in case -
27dn - the French 'father's' around a two letter male pronoun

Yes I was very sure about the pig, but had PARENTS for 27d (RENT in PA'S) and a plausible R ending for 34ac. Now it all fits, thanks!

without giving it away, can anyone provide a nudge towards seeing how a 26 letter phrase can "consist of eleven items". I have most of the grid and numerous clashed but cannot progress...

aspria - The phrase is a title. It normally features 'eleven items (although a twelfth is sometimes included)'.
All of the items are prefaced with the same three word phrase.
