Thanks. Personally I wouldn't pronounce "tholi" like that.

One I can't parse post-solve, so any help appreciated:
22a Deejay - Time to suit US river bird.
Must be a type I, river + bird for Dee jay, but the Spoonerism and meaning still elude me, even though it looks like it should be obvious.

Yes, and it's a vocalic one (I find them trickier) - DAY ('time') GEE ('to suit[,] US'; see gee[5] in Chambers).

Excellent, thank you very much.
I thought at one stage maybe it's G-day, short for Graduation day in the US when you might put on a suit. That's how desperate I was! And I checked the G's, but not the gees...

Interesting that there are no unchecked letters in that (and 19a). I don't think that's usual in an Azed.

It is interesting, and I think it's something I've only seen from Azed in 'specials' rather than plain puzzles. Having no unchecked letters in a 6-letter solution is contrary to the guidelines of a number of barred crosswords which advise setters to avoid fully-checked solutions of four of more letters. Azed's documented view is that high proportions of unchecked letters are unfair on the solver whilst low proportions are simply unfair on the setter!

I can't say I noticed it until I was double-checking (no pun intended) my grid for errors. Anyway, no complaints. A Spoonerism puzzle must be hellishly difficult to compose.

By the way, I notice a well-known Swedish retailer is secreted in the grid. Is Azed sponsored now? ;-)
