Finished the puzzle. However can anyone give me a hint on the Spoonerisms on 7 ac, 28 ac 34 ac and 7 d, 18d and 23d? Any help welcomed. Thanks

7ac - 'part in metre' (type II)
28ac - 'ye choose' (type I)
34ac - 'vill cerne' (type I)
7dn - 'oon hips' (type I)
18dn - ''port, home for young Boney' (type II)
23dn - 'Kin to Saul? One who was so' (type II)

And I would be grateful for guidance on the spoonerisms in 9d (which I guess is a type 1) and 17a (a type 2).

9dn - yes, type I, what the Americans call the last letter of the alphabet plus a word meaning 'to make a sound like an ass'.

17ac - no, it's a type I as well, a common crossword term for a sailor plus an archaic/dialect word meaning 'to mix, mingle'.

It seems that it's easier to solve this puzzle than to parse it! I'm still puzzled by what the Spoonerisms are in 14ac and 33ac.

Oh, jings, crivvens and help ma boab! How did I not see 9d? I was a Trustee and Board Member of a National Ballet company (you can probably guess which one) for 8 years. Time to go and stand in the corner!

14ac: 'base' = low, 'part of leg' = thigh (type I)
33ac: 'joint' = knee, 'dejected' = low (again!) (type I)
