I normally just lurk, but I'm struggling with the last clue that everyone else seems to have managed.

I can't make any sense of 17 across. I have -INE.

Can someone help me with the parsing?

17. Long leg back on fence (4). The definition is 'long', verb. The E is from the end of one word , the rest is a three-letter word for 'leg', reversed.

I couldn't get past 'long' as a noun.
