Orson. You need the whole diagonal.

Thanks, antmar, finished now! Turning a W into an M in one of the pieces was a big leap forwards.

You're welcome. I only got there because a diagonal was suggested here. I had convinced myself that it was the top row. I'd still be struggling now, had it not been for that suggestion. Once the phrase became clear, Google helped with the cutouts.

So following the instructions in the preamble, I.e. cells with two letters should not share a border with a hole, not all the 'S's move?

Hi Scarlett, thank, but if I move, for example, the S at the start of 12 A to the cell to the right to spell (SE) A, that cell would then have a side that borders a hole, so I think the E should move to the left instead ? There are other instances of this e.g 28D, where an S has been placed, that if moved, would mean the double-letter cell borders a hole.

no put that S in the square above after the E to be the 1st letter in Sells...

If (3,4) means row 3 col 4 then i have my S's in...
(1,1) (2,2 ) (5,5)after the L (6,6) ( 7,7) after the A (11,11)

and the other diagonal: {(7,7) duplicate from above} (5,7)
