I reckon it may be

Sang = Arias did perhaps
Froid = anagram of 'rid of'

Yet I am not sure as to the definition?

Yes I got it about a minute ago.
Did arias maybe =sang
Rid of ,anag.
Composed, showing sangfroid.
Conservatoire is school for singers .tricky one

I might be dense, but I don't quite see what Sangfroid has to do
with a school for singers (either in French or in English!)

The clue had a ? at the end which I think indicated a joke ?

Is the link not 'French' - if you were in the Conservatoire you would use a French word for composed?

I know the '?' means there is something 'fishy' about the clue,
but in this case I simply cannot see any connection!

I am missing something here, I am sure!
