Thanks jafo. I see 1d, but don't see the significance of "Group", as the answer is singular.

Well there is also a group called 1D, pretty obscure one I admit and I am not sure if the setter meant that or the group of 9 in Greece.

Talking of obscure groups you may want to google from the first post on this thread to find the theme........

Thanks for the hint. One of theirs is one of my favourite albums (though my daughter won't let me play it when she is in the house!). Unfortunately I didn't like any of their other stuff I heard, so never came across the relevant on.e Really obscure theme!

But not to me. I haven't got 14d and have no idea what it means. Thanks to others for some answers, but I've still some way to go. Any hints for 14d Right people for Royal Navy (5) and 10ac Tea Party's principal threat? (3, 6) I have ??D/?A???R. I have an idea for the answer, but can't see why.
I'm assuming the theme is colours.

The theme isn't colours - if you do as Jafo suggests @23 you should get it

Roof, the theme is not colours. However keep that thought in mind for 14d,

As for 10a it is straightforward enough, if you have it you would be able to parse I would imagine Think of a famous tea party in literature.

I know I am giving too much away, the wife is at the ballet so not much else to do.

Thanks Jafo
Got 10ac straight away. I thought 14d might be a synonym for Navy. I tried googling on my tablet, but it wouldn't do it. I must cook dinner now. Then I'll turn on my laptop.
