Thanks Zozozo, that confirms my solution but I only got it because I had all the crossing letters and it was the only feasible phrase. It must be the most contorted clue in the whole puzzle. Thanks again for your explanation.

Ah, thanks. I had the 3 letter I word on the middle left, so the M was just right for the end of my swimming pool. My problem with the 3 letter words is knowing which ones are stand alone and which have to be added on to another clue.

Just two left, the long D and the short V. Sorry Mamya, I can't think of the pop group for the latter. Is the second long D a theme word? I have filled in the grid, but both Ds are vertical, so I must have gone wrong somewhere.
Ive just realised that I don't have the second F either. I have ? U? L? R? A?. I'm guessing it's full something.
Any hints?
