Yes, it is" theic" as that mean as an obsessive tea drinker.., but other than that I cannot parse it - sorry!

Many thanks. That's three new things I've learnt off this crossword today & that one may well stick.

I admit I looked at "theic" and assumed a Greek root relating to Theos as in theology...... but then a little learning is a dangerous thing!

A "theic" is a person who drinks too much tea, or who suffers from theism.
See under "theine" in Chambers.

"Theic" is periodically reversed in "CrImE tHaT".
