Really found this difficult - bottom right hand eludes me. 21ac Have a great time turning 13 (9). ?t?a?n???. 26ac Though not even turned 18 he's a famous scientist (7) ?a?g???. Any help/pointers appreciated.

A rather late reply, shuttleplayer, so you've probably worked it out by now, but your entry for 16d must be incorrect.
It's an anagram around a 3-letter synonym for 'nonetheless'. It's not one of the themed clues.
21 and 26A are themed.
