Exactly what I was/an stuck on!
For 6d, think of what might surround a depicted landscape.
The other still eludes me

Have you included 2 as one? Apart from 2 , I have 5 across and 5 down

Me too, five each. Good one, would have got there faster if I hadn't been set on having 9dn as punka wallah! The fan got me on that path.

Travelling in New England and working, now and then, on clues on screen and a hand-drawn grid. Stuck on last two in SW.

For 20d I have "A???A?" and I think the answer needs a slice and that the definition is the last two words of the clue. For 23a I have "?A???O?r?" and I think I've used up all my across slices. "Racegoer" might fit but it doesn't convince me for parsing - and it doesn't work if I'm right about 20d.

Any steers?
