Making slow progress with this, held up by 3D 18D.....does it have a switch ? Any help appreciated...

3d 18d has a switch from positive to negative

Just the north-east corner left. If I could get 8D it would help. Can anyone assist?

Also 14D, if I've got it right, appears to switch the (4 letter) second half of the word for its 3 letter negative and retain the original fifth letter. That doesn't seem to conform to the rules. Or have I got it wrong? Again, help anyone?

Hi Sid, 14D is not one of the changers, I think... Can't help with 8D. Stuck on that one too

14D is normal

8D (defn instrument) goes from positive (homophone) to negative

Can you tell me how many letters the untreated instrument has?
I've got O-T at the end but that's all.
