30 A has Gal(e), short storm, after Lop, cut - and this is Dart, speed, go fast.

30 D. I saw only the O/old and Tog, item of clothing. I suppose the answer = to be resorted to, but I didn't really see/get that bit.

I sort of parsed 30A the same way, but wasn't convinced the answer was synonym for dart.

But I'm sure your parsing for 30D is right. I hadn't spotted TOG as an item of clothing. Like you though, not sure how the answer quite fits the clue def.

Hi Malone, I think the definition of 30d includes the whole phrase (ie 'when danger is encountered') - so that the go-to is someone who can be relied on to help?

I agree that the 'origami' was also fun!

Thanks, christamac - I didn't mention the whole phrase, but only because that would have shown the misprint. I'm never sure how far other solvers have got when they look on here.
