Thanks chrise. Was trying anagrams but couldn't find the right combination. Now I see it.

AM struggling too with 8A, 11A (Thanks chrise for hint about beryl), 3d 5d and 6d. But I did get something for 16A Novelist about to leave ....

Thanks jazzgirl. I just lost what I had typed. So here goes again. Believe it or not I have 16A. I think the 'about' is indicated by a missing 'C' from the novelist. I have not got 11A but I now have 3 letter so live in hope......

Had bad day with internet bank! Sorted now I hope after a visit to shop. I too have been dragged kicking and screaming into modern world so synpathis with the other contributor!
