Well I've finished, but I can't remember a Guardian crossword with so many dodgy clues. I have 8 with some sort of question mark about!

Yes. It's an American "creation". It's one that actually parses impeccably.

Well, I've been doing crosswords since I was 7 years old (over 50 years ago) & that is a BEAUT! Just noticed that I don't have 12A ?A?A (4). Any help? I don't submit entries to this crossword any more by the way, as I've won it twice in the past & don't need the prize! You don't happen to need a new 'Chambers' or Times Atlas of the World do you?

Loverman - I didn't win either of those prizes when I won this puzzle a while ago (it was 2 books - crossword setters guide + an other)
Chambers ?

Sorry for confusion sudokulover. I won the same as you for Guardian. Chambers Dictionary was from Scotland on Sunday & Atlas was from The Times Jumbo Crossword (on Saturdays). I end up donating them to charity shops as I never get any response on Ebay or Gumtree!
