Good evening all, beautiful sunset here in Snorbens! Just a small point, 6d is anagram of grass a with novel about. This would suggest 5th letter is "a". If you're solving the WORDFINDER it has to be "o". Both spellings are acceptable but a little confusing?

I don't do the wordfinder, so didn't notice the alternative spelling.
Chambers shows the spelling with o , and with a as an alternative,

Well it finally arrived, and I've finished, though I did need jazzy's (?) pointer to 16a.

Isn't 7a a great clue? It made me laugh out loud! For anyone who reads this but doesn't have RT, the clue is:
