Sorry I misspelt your name Raymond def for 17 down is in a way based on theoretical deduction rather than empirical observation. Hope this helps

I was completely in the dark about "em" . I knew about the print unit.
I had to google and found this:

pixels: 17
= 12 point font
= 1 em font

20 point font equal to 1.6 em
This setter is expecting us to know this ?

Hi Jazzgirl
I only know that an em is two en's and that an em is equal to 12 point therefore 1.6X12 =20 ?????

I didn`t parse 5d at all! Just thought `decorate` and guessed there had to be `bell ` in there. No idea where `ish` came from....... Still haven`t ! Mags.
