Hi, Rusty!
Now I never watched this...... but years back, there was a programme called "Knight Rider" where the hero fought "modern-day" crime with the help of a super -technologically advanced, artificially intelligent car!
Called, I believe, "Kitt".
Kitt could do all sorts of things by itself, like driving without a driver, and responding to spoken instructions........
Yes, our car melts the frost! Within seconds!
I was reading earlier about Roger's beating Juan Martin del Potro in the Indoors Championship at Basel.
This makes 95 ATP singles titles that Roger now holds - only Jimmy Connors is ahead of him with 109!
I have just been talking to my daughter- she often phones me to chat, in her lunch hour.
I though the 15 x15 Cryptic a very straightforward one today - more on a par with the QC?
Have you had chance to do yours yet?

Hello, Elle!
I have not heard of Knight Rider, I'm afraid.
That is good about your car.
It will have heated seats, too, likely?
I much prefer Roger Federer to Jimmy Connors!
Now, if you can get your EuroPlayer to co=operate, the New York Marathon is live on Sunday, on EuroSport..
I have no idea who is in it, but am looking forward to seeing the city.
I have not attempted my puzzle yet.
I was out checking up on the progress of the new Starbucks drive-thru as part of my walk.
Still quite a bit to do before it is finished, by the looks of things.

Hello, Elle!
Just finished my puzzle.
I did not find it straightforward, though.
I have "notes" for 22d.
Did you parse it?
Anyway, I have the vlog for today.
It is for your favourite Times Quick Cryptic.

Hi, Rusty!
We have been out for a walk.
It was beautiful out in the park- and thankfully nice and quiet now that half terms are finished!
Yes, the Volvo is quite clever; it adjusts its own clock, defrosts the windows etc., and heats the seats.
It also tells us if it sees a speed camera, and beeps at us if another car is too close.
You see why I was comparing it to "Kitt"!
I doubt I shall get any joy from EuroSport Player..... do you think there is any chance of the NY Marathon being shown on "ordinary" TV?
There were three words that I needed to check out in the crossword....but otherwise all was ok.
It is already starting to go dark!

Hi, Rusty!
Oops, we crossed!
See my other post below......
For 22d, I have :
notes = mentions (def)
No TES (Times Educational Supplement) - teacher's newspaper isn't available
The words I had to check out were kitschier; manga; and rainmaker.
I had the answers and the parsing - just needed to verify the meanings......
I shall listen to your man's vlog shortly - thank you!

Hi, Rusty!
You about? You've been very quiet......
What did you think about the parse for "no TES"?
It was the only thing that came to my mind?
I have just listened / watched your link to the Times QC....
It was very good....the guy explains very thoroughly!
Very chilly here......going to be a very cold night!
I read in the News that the UK is all set for a minus 11C Winter spell!

Good morning, Elle!
I was quite busy yesterday.
Not on-line.
I did not know what "TES" meant although I thought "notes" was correct.
I have done today's puzzle online.
Quite a good one, I think.
Was up early!
Off for my paper now.

Good morning, Rusty!
A dullish day so far....a good walk though.
I think the magazine TES (for primary school teachers?) might well be called TESS in Scotland?
This is perhaps why you did not think of it.
You must indeed have been up early to have already completed your crossword by that hour!
I haven't even printed mine out yet......let alone looked at them!
Coffee needed first.....

Hi, Rusty!
You are well ahead of me with your crossword!
I am struggling somewhat with today's 15 x15!
One very small clue that I cannot even do is
9a: Pair coming in also comes down (5)
L?N?S
I think it must be "lands" = comes down (def)
and - also
But why is L and S a pair?
Other, that is, than their sitting next to each other in the word "also"?
Brain not coping.........
I am going out now with my dog .........
Let us hope that fFresh air may help?)

Hello, Elle!
It is a nice day here!
I thought that was an unsatifactory clue, I'm sorry to say!
You have parsed it in your post.
"But why is L and S a pair".
They are not at all a pair, but this setter tells us they are.
In "also", L and S are two letters next to each other.
"L and S" or "lands" for "come down".
I am not surprised your brain is not coping.
How any one can say "ls" is a "pair" is beyond me.
The nearest Chambers comes is "two things grouped or used together"
Hope you enjoyed the fresh air!
