Hello, Elle!
Is there not a trial for a month for £5.99, too?
Or maybe that is another company?
You could have got it for the French Open, or the US Open, to see if it was for you or not?
I think alternative ways of watching sports etc are coming.
The days of having to sign up to a big package with Sky will be history.
A pity it is not for your TV, but change is coming.
I think Sky is going to be available next year without a dish.
That is good news!
Technology is galloping onwards!
I do not think you will need "Red Button for Dummies".
It is quite straightforward.
It says a lot for your daughter that she wanted your company on her expedition.
But alert her to the fact that you are not sweet sixteen anymore, but are in your prime, like Miss Brodie!
I have had a canny day.
I was looking at a plot of land where a new "drive through" coffee house is going.
Just being nosey.

Update, Elle!
There is another system.
TV Player Plus.
It offers extra channels on smart TV's etc.
They include both Eurosport channels, Nat Geographic etc.
You get a Free Trial.
Then the cost is £5.99 per month.
Have a look?

Hi, Rusty!
I have been looking up the EuroSport option.... now, the £5-99 trial is only for 24 hours.
So I think if I decide to go down the Eurosport Player route, the £19-99 for twelve months - until December 31st - is far better value?
I could decide about whether or not to continue when it goes up to the full price of £59.99, after the twelve months trial price has finished .
I am not sure about TV Player Plus?
You say this is for Smart TV?
We do not have that.
And TV player Plus eventually would work out dearer overall than EuroSport Player.
I shall read up further on both.........and "cogitate"!
You have given me much food for thought!
I have never heard of a drive -thru coffee house? (a McDonalds , yes....)
I'm very fussy about coffee.......I love Costa.......hate Starbucks!
I haven't had tine to do any crosswords today!

Hello, Elle!
You should have a look at the Eurosport schedules to see if it would suit you?
But, they cover all the big tennis tournaments, Diamond League, etc.
Worth investigating!
No, forget the one for smart TV, but changes are coming.
Now, this baffles me.
i was looking through Bradford's today and she has me baffled.
Came across this.
"How much"... her synonym or whatever, is, "the"?
How can "the" be "how much"?
It was "howler" I was looking up, when it caught my eye.
Chambers has it too, but I do not understand what they mean.
Any idea, and if so, can you explain it plainly, please?

Hi, Rusty!
I'm a bit lost here....?
Yes, I have found "How much" and "the" underneath "howler" in Bradford's.
I don't understand it all...?
But how do you mean, it is also in Chambers?
Where? I can't find it?

Hello, Elle!
Odd, is not it?
Look under ,"the2", in Chambers.
Chambers has two, "the" entries.
I can not grasp it at all.

"the" used as an adverb

1. To that extent; by that much. Used before a comparative: 'the earlier the better '
2. Beyond any other: 'enjoyed reading the most'

I do not understand that, Jazzgirl.
How does that word, "the" mean "how much" in your examples?

...The more she thought about it, the more devastating it became.

The longer we continue in sin, the more difficult it is to reform.

These are two examples I found online - I think it's one of those things where it's easier to recognise than to define!
